BLS for Healthcare Providers

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Red Cross allows healthcare and public safety professionals to meet a variety of certification and licensing requirements.

Our healthcare providers’ BLS curriculum includes all standard scientific learning objectives necessary in professional resuscitation courses, but also allows students to develop their critical thinking and teamwork skills, and work on reflection and debriefing, which serves to strengthen their overall learning and work experience. In addition, our courses are modular and flexible, and offer medical directors, educators and Red Cross training partners the ability to tailor courses to their students’ specific needs.

BLS Certification

Earn your BLS certification from the American Red Cross. Whether you work in the medical industry, are in school to become a nurse or physician, or are an EMT, police officer, or firefighter, when you get BLS certified you can show your employer that you have the training you need to improve patient outcomes.

Designed and taught by experts, Red Cross BLS certification courses have been developed under the guidance of, and reviewed by, the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council – a panel of nationally recognized experts from a wide range of scientific, medical and academic disciplines – ensuring that the information provided meets or exceeds local, state and/or national standards.

And with in-person training, as well as our best-in-class blended learning, you can gain the skills you need to get BLS certified in the way that suits you best.
